Hello internet friends,

Today I saw this thread called "What's the most nonchalant thing someone has said to you in a terrifying situation:"

And I got this idea, so I'm going to share my two stories, my "why the hell did I just say that".

Well, one was in the middle school locker room and the other in my apartment. Here they go

***Story 1***
When I was in 8th grade, a girl came up to me and said "Why's your hair black?" Now, my hair isn't black. It's actually a pretty light brown. And on this day, I didn't have my bright pink glasses on, I had my bright blue ones. So I looked up at her and said "because I'm black". I don't know why, but it was just something that came into my head. The girl just kind of stared, I just kind of stared, and then she slowly walked away. She never talked to me again, and I never found out what she meant by that.

***Story 2***
I live in a pretty crappy apartment. The pipes are leaking, there's no heat, no air conditioning, and we have to pay extra for hot water. But hey, it's only $400 a month. It was around 2am when I heard a noise. My boyfriend and I were laying in bed when we heard walking. Now, there is no one above us, since we're on the top floor. I asked who it was, and the walking just stopped. There was a woman who lived next door, she was a really nice woman, and I could see her shadow at my door. I asked again "who's there?" And she said, "Oh I'm so sorry, I thought this was my apartment." I replied with "well it isn't". She said "oh my bad" and walked away. My boyfriend and I just looked at each other and shrugged it off. The next day, I talked to the lady next door. She had a son and a daughter, and we got along really well. I asked her why she was walking around at 2am, and she said she was asleep. I was confused, so I asked her son and daughter, same answer. So, I asked the landlord. And he told me that the woman who lived there previously had died. Apparently her husband and son had tried to set her on fire. She died in the hospital shortly after, and the husband and son are both in jail. She had a daughter too, she was about my age when it happened, so probably around 25 now. I never found out what happened to her, but I still get the feeling that she's the one who was walking around my apartment. The same woman who walked around my apartment at 2am.

***TLDR: I think a ghost who had been set on fire by her husband and son was walking around my crappy apartment at 2am***

Edit: Since a lot of you have been asking, I didn't call the police because it was 2am and they don't really have anything to do with it. I live in Chicago, and if you know anything about Chicago, you know the cops aren't really the best. They would probably just show up and take my tax money.
