CMV: The overwhelming majority of people from the West who plan to permanently move to or purchase property in countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and elsewhere in developing parts of the world are motivated by sad, racist stereotypes and wish to exploit local women or children

I'm from a country in Eastern Europe who is seeing a big influx of people from the U.S. moving here, with many, many more expressing their intent to do so in the near future.

I've been watching the sub of r/EasternEurope, where many of the "immigrants to be" are discussing their plans or experiences. If you'll take a look at this sub, you'll see a disproportionate amount of threads with questions like:

* "Would I attract Eastern European women in my 70s if I was moderately good looking in my youth, lost all of my hair, and put on a lot of weight?"
* "What countries should I avoid if I want to avoid gypsies, slavs, or other undesirables?"
* "What Eastern European countries have the least amount of blacks?"
* "What Eastern European countries have the least amount of gay people?"

Many of the people on these threads are on your average Redditor level of bigot, but there are some posters who seem to be more of the extremist variety. Many seem to actually actively want to pursue relationships with 2-3 decade(s) younger Eastern European (most of the times White) women, with some discussing how they can exploit the power imbalance and "train" their partners. There are also recurrent discussion of the finer details of child sex tourism. These discussions seems to be mostly fueled by racist and sexist stereotypes, as well as some sort of resentment and revenge seeking. While these people must be in the minority, it's not a minority to the point of insignificance.

My home country is an overall very safe place with huge intergenerational cohesion, but the mentality of many of these people is so wildly at odds with how things work in everyday society where I live, that I'm not sure what to expect in the future. I definitely don't see myself and my single friends (mostly women) in their 20s and 30s hooking up with 70-year-olds, but I do see a future where immigrants or foreign property owners with a predatory or otherwise socially destructive mentality may become a problem.

These sort of problems are in no way exclusive to immigrants from the West, but rather part of a larger issue of colonial mentality and the abuse of power. This is an issue not just with Eastern Europe, but anywhere where the West has interfered in the past. Nonetheless, though, I think that Western immigrants to Eastern Europe specifically will be an increasingly destructive force in the coming years, and I would like this notion to be proven wrong.

tl;dr: I think that a lot of people from the West who move to Eastern Europe (or similar places) do so with racist stereotypes in mind, and hope to exploit the power imbalance that comes with living in a foreign country to abuse or otherwise mistreat local residents, especially women and children.
