Narrative of exponentials is dying

I feel like in the last six months there's been a huge shift in the forums and the discourse in general. Back in 2019 and 2020 it was like everyone believed that we were still on the exponential curve and that 2029 was likely. That era of thinking is pretty much behind us and now the whole discussion seems to be about when the first S-curve will end, how much new innovations will be left to discover and how much new tech (AGI, fusion and biotech) in 2050 will be the result of research in the 2020s and what percentage of it will be the result of research in the 2030s. I hope I'm wrong.
