We should phase out home ownership and give everyone a right to a home

I'm working with homeless people, old people that live alone, people in need for medical care and so on. Homelessness is a real fucking issue. Old people that live alone are often forced to sell their house so they can go into a facility (a lot of them) have dementia or something, a lot of them go alone, the family helps too little, so they need to sell their house so the government doesn't have to finance this anymore. A lot of the facilities don't have enough employees to properly help these people. Poor people have to struggle to get a home, and it is a struggle. Everything is expensive. If you work a job that doesn't pay too much, you'll have a hard time. People can't afford food, medical care, and a roof over their heads. I honestly think that with the current system, we can't implement good healthcare, free food for the poor, and so on when housing isn't even guaranteed. Housing is one of the most important things, if not the most important. Even if people would have enough to eat, and good healthcare, a home is important to have a good mental state in my opinion. So in a perfect world. Everyone would automatically get a house, and it would be a place they can stay for a lifetime. A place they can call home. Even if they lose their job, get evicted, and so on. They will always have a place to sleep, a place they can call their home. If they get a job, they'd have to pay for their home, but I would also implement something like a 30 hour workweek, to make sure people have time for other things too, like spending time with friends and family.

So for example, someone who works 30 hours a week, would pay something like 300$ a month, and have 1200$-1300$ free to use. Everyone who would be unemployed, or disabled would get a similar amount of money.

What do you think?
