If we are living in a simulation, will the simulators ever contact their simulated inhabitants?

I'm not sure if this has already been asked on this subreddit. I'd be happy to know your thoughts on this.<br><br><br>If we are living in a simulation, would the simulators ever contact the inhabitants within their simulated world? or are they banned from any interference?<br><br><br>If they are not banned from interfering with their simulated inhabitants, will they wait for their intelligent inhabitants to eventually reach their simulators like we are trying to do with neighbouring planets and other galaxies. Perhaps we are prevented from advancing till we reach a certain milestone.
