I've notice a lot of posts about lifting from GameStop (I don't really browse this sub) but I will tell you this, we don't give a fuck. We get paid shit and the company doesn't take care of us anyway. If you get caught on camera we don't really give a fuck. We tell you to stop and if you don't, call the cops. Now, if you get caught in the act and run, we will chase you because we get a bitch for not stopping shoplifting. If we catch you we might〇t call the cops but we can if we feel like it.

This is what we do for you to get caught:
1. When you walk in the door we are watching you on camera. If you put something in your pocket/backpack we call the cops and tell them we have a possible shoplifter. If you leave with the item we describe you and the item to the cops and they pick you up if they catch you.
2. Most GameStop's don't have sensors on the door. They are decoration. If we do call the cops on you and you walk out, don't think that the alarms won't go off. We set them off manually and we might tell another employee to let the cops in.
3. If we do manage to get you to come back in and we find the item, we will detain you. If you don't want to cooperate and try to fight, we will call the cops and have them come and arrest you. If you get smart with the cops they will add on assault charges.

This is what you need to do to get away with it:
1. Know the cameras. Walk in, look around, and see where the cameras are. In my GameStop the cameras are in the front corners and behind the registers. We have two cameras outside, one pointing at the back of the parking lot and one pointing at the front door.
2. Don't bring a bag. If you bring a bag in we will think you are gonna steal. If you have something in your pocket and a bag, we will think you dumped stock in the bag.
3. If you go into the back corner where the cameras don't see, be quick. If you spend to much time back there we might call the cops depending on the employee.
4. Be respectful and don't talk to the employees about other employees. GameStop employees talk, a lot. If you go into one GameStop and talk shit about another employee, word will get around and we will think your a thief unless you drop $100.
5. Don't come in with a group of people or we might call the cops. This is kind of a judgement call, if you are in your 30's, we won't care. If you are in your teens/20's with a group of people, we will call the cops.

Like I said, we don't really care if you steal. But, if you give us a reason to care, we will do what we can to stop you.

Edit: I should state that I am an ex-GameStop employee. Not current.
