Why do cars break down so easily?

I mean fuck, my grandpa owns a 1978 Ford Pinto, and it still is in good condition plus he brought it from a junkyard in 1990s. So, why do cars today have so much problems especially my grandpa’s 2019 Ford Mustang that he bought brand new and takes excellent care of it?
