Why’s everyone leaving the profession? It’s like no one wants to teach

I’m 24 and started this year. I’m loving it so far. I’ve got some behaviour issues and my colleagues says that’s not normal and that if I can get through this, I can handle the job. I’ve got a mentor, I’ve got a head of department, I’m not really having too many issues, I’m really enjoying it and I’m gonna stick with it.

That said, I never want to be a head of department or anything like that.

But I know I’m in the minority. I’ve already seen someone I trained with leave after only a month. I see tons of threads on here from US teachers who are leaving the profession. I’ve heard it’s exactly the same situation in the UK.

What’s happening?
