[Meta] This Subreddit is not for your political agenda

This chamber has been a safe space for people of all genders (with the understanding that cis men are a political class that is hostile to that safety) for over 12 years. It has always been intended as a space to discuss feminist issues, vent about misogyny and sexism, and to support each other in a space without that toxicity. As a mod team, we have always taken the approach that less moderation is better, as long as the above goals are being met.<br><br>Recently, however, the focus of this space has become clouded. We have seen a huge influx of new users who seem to be coming directly from conservative chambers like r/redscarepod and r/unpopularopinion. These users are bringing a political agenda that is hostile to the safe space we are trying to create. This is not a space for your political agenda. It's not a place to virtue signal, to try to in-group yourselves with our community, or to try to swing us to your side of US politics.<br><br>If you came here from r/redscarepod, because you saw our sub listed on a (now deleted) post asking which subs "the-left-can't-make-up-their-mind-on". This is not the space you are looking for. If you want to talk about women's issues, you have to actually care about women's issues. The types of issues we care about here, are issues like women's healthcare, consent (not just consent for the act of sex, but for the use of images and videos of the sex act), Equal Pay, and so on. If you want to come to this space and discuss those issues with us, you are welcome to. But no, we will not be swayed away from the mainstream political position on those issues. No, we're not going to start advocating against women's healthcare, or against consent. No, we're not going to start advocating against equal pay or equal treatment. You're not going to come in here and change our political stance, so stop trying.<br><br>If you want to use this space to attack people who are trying to create a safe space for women, to attack and undermine a political class that is repressed and marginalized, then you are not welcome here. We will continue to advocate for women. We will continue to advocate for equality and consent. And if that's a problem for you, then you have no reason to be in this space.<br><br>We're adding new moderators from our existing community, who are experienced in creating this safe space, and we're going to crack down more on hostile and off-topic comments.
