Hegelian dialectic in the context of patriarchy is a philosophical structure used to explain how societies progress, and how one thesis and a conflicting antithesis resolve into a higher level of understanding, the synthesis. In other words, a (patriarchal) idea is proposed (“thesis”), someone else gives a conflicting idea (“antithesis”), and through conflict and discussion, the best parts of those ideas are retained to produce a new thesis, and then the cycle begins again. These steps are often driven by the contradictions of the thesis and antithesis.

My point is, I know that in our discourse we have an antithesis to the patriarchal thesis, but our ideas are often met with disdain and dismissal by society at large. The synthesis will eventually happen, but it needs to be actively pushed for, and it will take time and a lot of hard work for it to become the new thesis.
