Why do students struggle with digital content?

As a secondary teacher, I have noticed that my students struggle more with digital content and digital assignments than with written ones. I'm curious as to what the reasons could be.<br><br>In my case, I use Google Classroom and Google Docs to communicate with my students, assign work and provide feedback. I also use a number of digital tools to create multimedia content, however they often prefer to study with written notes. I also notice that they constantly express that they find studying more difficult when using a computer, even though the content is the same as in written form.<br><br>I would like to know what are the possible reasons for this struggle and how could I improve my students' digital learning experience.
