Renter’s conundrum

I moved into a new place without much thought about the final touches that would make it feel like home, and it’s been quite the journey finding where to spend my time and money wisely to get to that point.

For example, I really love candles and the ambiance they bring to a room. But… they don’t really fit into the whole minimalist way of life which I’ve been leaning towards lately. I’ve also been trying to find the right color (I’m a fan of muted colors).

I’d love to know how you all manage to make your space feel like home without breaking the bank, and whether your personal choice is to go more modern, more vintage etc.

TL;DR Is it worth spending money on decor, or is it too much unnecessary spending?
