I'm 22 and single. I currently work at a small library. One of my coworkers, Sarah, is 25 and the chief librarian. She is married to some guy and has a 9-year-old son.

In my time at this library, she had a 28-month gap between kids. Her second baby was born in April. She has just returned to work this week.

Anyway, she seemed so burned out all the time with her new baby, her older son, her husband, and her job. I would be burned out too, tbh.

Yesterday, I asked her how she is able to work with kids at home, and her response was "I don't sleep".

3 kids, a small child, a husband, and a job, and Sarah barely sleeps.

I am currently considering the possibility of not having any kids. I just don't think kids are a good fit for me for the short term. I'd rather do whatever I want for my 20s than being a mom.

I love kids, but bc I did not grow up with any siblings I feel I am not qualified to be a mom. I feel like i would be too hard and strict. I don't think it would be a good idea to have kids in an unstable economy. I have small goals I want to achieve for the next couple years, and right now I don't think I have the time for kids.

I currently have a one-bedroom studio, and I don't think I could fit a kid in my space.

I have been thinking about how I would even manage a kid outside of work? I have no idea how women do it.
