CMV: You're not required to give someone a chance to get to know you just because they want to.

Hey all. Going to try this with a CMV for the first time. See what happens.<br><br>Lately, I started dating a guy. Not for long, but enough to realize that it isn't going to work out between us. When I told this to my friends, their first reaction was, "Give him a chance. Don't judge him by his cover." In the past, I did the same, and even after I started dating someone, I felt exactly the same. There was nothing in them that was drawing me to them, except maybe their face. After I finished the relationship, I realized that I did exactly what my friends told me to do, I gave that person a chance to get to know me, even though I wasn't attracted to him at all. Now, I feel that the relationship I have with my current bf could have been avoided if I gave that person a chance to get to know me. <br><br>I don't think that I am required to give someone a chance to get to know them better just because they want to be with me. <br><br>Edit: Thank you to everyone that commented.
