Is engineering/math-oriented jobs really in that high demand compared to sales/marketing?

I'm a student in bsc engineering and i have some friends in marketing and sales. I've always thought that science stuff was in higher demand. But everything i see lately changes my mind. My friends in marketing didn't have difficulties to find internships in very well-known international companies, i on the other side had difficulties for the same companies, even my least favorite ones. They also get to work in really interesting projects. My other friends who graduated in november already found a job in well-known companies, and get to travel as well. I had difficulties myself to find a part-time job even if i work in a very complex field. I can't help but feel that engineering/math-oriented field is not really in-demand as much as i thought, or i am just a bad student (even if i have good marks). Do you think i should really change career path?
