This sub is full of the best advice like cook your own food, cancel subscription and buy second hand.

But I would like to add from outside of the box and more like a long term strategy.

If you are in your 20-30, don’t go for the high pay jobs.

Those kind of jobs require you to full time work, to wear expensive clothes, to eat outside, to buy new cars, to buy expensive homes etc.

They require you to be expensive. You will not be frugal with a high pay job. And definitely not if you are under 40.

And that’s not all, the more you earn the more you pay your taxes, if you live in a country like Denmark where 50% of your income goes to the State or something like that. And then if you are rarely at home because you are working 60h a week then you will be lonely and stressed and you will need to go to therapy and or to buy expensive stuff that will not make you feel better.

I’m in my late 20 and I have two kids and I’m living in a small town in Spain. I work 20h a week for a very good government paid job and I earn around 2500€. I’m happy, I have a frugal and comfortable life and I’m not stressed at all. I’m outdoors with my children everyday. I have the best frugal life you can’t imagine.
