I am a stay at home mother of 2 with no college education. I'm 31 now and have been in tech for 8 years. I got out of tech because of the lack of work life balance and because I wanted to be home with my children.

I am currently seeking the help of my ex tech coworkers. I've been noticing more lately that office hours have changed to include more hours and I don't see understanding about work life balance. I see a decline in integrity and it appears to be due to AI.

I am in a struggle. I understand it can be helpful but it's also making people lazy. They don't know when to use it and how to use it. They are allowing it to make them office drones. AI is a tool. It can assist, but there is no personal touch. It does not help give the company life.

My office hours have been increasing and so has the pressure. I can't do it. I'm done. I refuse to be a drone. I refuse to allow AI to take away from the attention to detail I have. And I refuse to do more than I should.

I know I'm just a single person in tech and my voice doesn't matter. I refuse to allow technology to take away my human value. AI is a tool. Nothing more.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
