CMV: "Zoombombing" is not just easily preventable, it's a non-issue completely.

This is my first time posting on this sub, partly because I have been a victim of the recent influx of Reddit-wide quarantining. I'm currently Snowbuddyman, the same snowbuddyman that got banned on r/redscarepod, even though I'm just a fan of the show; I regularly post on r/redscarepodsnark, where I go by the name shashka2000. <br><br>Anyway, I recently "zoombombed" my high school reunion using a few troll accounts and just me and my friend, and it was super fun. Then the next day I saw that there was a huge news scandal about Zoombombing, with the mayor of NYC saying it was a "new thing" and that it was super serious, and, of course, the usual "it's not safe to use zoom" panic porn media article.<br><br>I've done this three times now to a bunch of different reunions and events, it's super fun, but the point is, if I can do it, you can do it, and there's no way that letting your kids use the advanced settings on Zoom is bad for their privacy, since anyone can do it anyway.<br><br>EDIT: Alright well I guess I need to tag this NSFW now lol. Anyway, to all the people in the comments, thanks for ruining the surprise for all the upcoming events I was gonna troll :-)<br><br>EDIT2: Just to clarify, I'm not saying that if you get your event bombed with porn, it's your fault. Please don't take this that way. What I mean is that it's enormously easy to prevent, and that the media is just using this as another opportunity to stoke up fear of new media, like they do with social media, or video games, or whatever else. They're just pretending Zoombombing is hard to prevent so that they can then say that zoom isn't safe. Also, I'm not saying that zoombombing should be legal, but it's just one of those crimes like jaywalking or violating a Hugo Boss copyright where everyone does it anyway and it doesn't hurt anyone and the real reason it's illegal is just so that the government and corporations can get away with it too.
