Not learning (or worse, not teaching your kids) to swim is one of the absolute stupidest things you could do

Swimming is like walking, but for water. Not knowing how to swim puts you at a HUGE disadvantage, as you pretty much can't go near water without risking your life. It's damn near impossible to not be near water, and falling into it without knowing how to swim is easily a death sentence. It's a crucial survival skill that can, and will, save your life one day. It's not hard to learn, and it can be fun. There is absolutely no excuse for not knowing how to swim.
