We just threw away our whole kitchen

We live on a small homestead and have just finished our first canning season, after it I turned to my husband and said "I want to put all our kitchen stuff away", he looked in the cupboards and said "where are you going to put it" and we both looked at each other and said "we don't have to".

All our kitchen stuff has been mostly packed up for the last 8 months because of our recent move into the homestead. When we unpacked the essentials to use them we were left looking at what was left over, the non-essential stuff that didn't get unpacked but that we had still kept in the move, the kitchen appliances we didn't use, the gadgets and gizmos we thought we would use but are still in their boxes, the dishes we didn't like but kept just incase.

In that moment we decided that we were going to get rid of it all, we didn't need it and if we did we can always replace it. We also decided to downsize our dishes and pots and pans, anything that didn't have more than one use was put in a bag to be donated or recycled.

We have been doing this for a week now, our whole kitchen is gone. The only thing we have left is our slow cooker, blender, coffee maker, instant pot, toaster, and microwave. Along with our cast iron pan, and a couple utensils that are multipurpose.

A week later I can say I have never been happier, the amount of stress this has taken off of my shoulders is indescribable. I put throught into what was taking up space in my home and I made a change. I am so grateful for it.
