19F, 22F here.

My wife and I are on a trip from Texas to California and back, and we've been on the road for about six days. We have $20 left to last us until February 4th.

The trip has been riddled with car issues, and we're currently stranded until we can get it fixed. The repairs will be way more than the little money we have left.

We've gotten really lucky so far. A mechanic gave us a brand new tire for free. Someone let us sleep in their backyard for 2 nights. Folks in this sub have really helped us get back on our feet.

I know it sounds crazy, but I have a feeling that everything is going to work out. Maybe I'm just trying to stay positive. But, it's been working for us so far. And we've met some really cool people along the way.

The car is at a mechanic, and our last bit of money went to a nearby hotel room. We were so exhausted that we slept for almost 24 hours straight. And this morning, we went to the hospital.

We're sitting in the waiting room right now. My wife isn't feeling great, so we're getting her checked out. I'm a little worried that she might have the flu.

I'm freaking out a little bit. I don't know how we're going to get her the treatment she needs if she's sick. We're already up to our eyeballs in debt, and I don't know how I can afford to take care of her right now.

I'm trying to be strong for her. But, I'm kind of freaking out on the inside.

I'll update after she gets checked out.

**TL;DR:** My wife and I have $20 left until February 4th. We're on a road trip, and we've been stranded with car issues, but we've gotten lucky so far with a free tire and a place to stay. We're at the hospital now because my wife isn't feeling well, and I'm worried about how we'll afford her treatment.
