I found an extremely bizarre internet survey

Nobody knows what rock bottom truly is until they've hit it. Being abruptly fired from a job you've worked at for the past ten years, only because some big corporation bought out your small company, will do that to a person in an instant.

With nothing but free time on my hands now, and only $800 left to my name, stress and worry quickly set in. It didn't take long for me to realize that I desperately needed some additional money in order to pay my upcoming rent on time. I took to the internet to find any possible means of accumulating some cash, and that's when I discovered it. There was a website that I found which promised to pay me $50 if I completed a digital census. It didn't sound like very much at all, but it was better than nothing.

A cinch of easy money, or at least that's what I hoped. Without a second thought, I clicked on the link, setup an account, and got started right away.

I gripped the mouse in my hand and clicked on the blue "Begin Survey" button. I was brought to the first question.

Question 1: Is this the first time that you've ever logged onto this website?

A) Yes

B) No

C) I don't know

D) Other

I was confused by the simplicity of the question. Of course this was the first time that I had logged onto the website, I just created the account a few minutes ago. I decided to go ahead and answer *A) Yes.*

The first question brought me to the second question.

Question 2: Is this the last time that you will ever log onto this website?

A) Yes

B) No

C) I don't know

D) Other

The question caught me off guard and made me stop to think for a moment. It seemed like I was in the process of answering the same question that I had just answered, but from a different perspective. I answered *A) Yes* to the first question, and it made me realize that this was actually the first AND last time that I'll be answering these questions.

*That's what they want me to think, at least.*

Answering *A) Yes* to the first question made me think that I should answer *B) No* to the second. I may be attempting to answer the questions again, or maybe I won't. I just don't know.

I decided to go ahead and answer *B) No.* I wanted to see what the next question was.

Question 3: Will you answer NO to this question?

A) Yes

B) No

C) I don't know

D) Other

This question was the strangest one yet, and it sent my mind spiraling into a cavern of confusion. The question wanted me to answer *NO,* but how could I if I wanted to actually pick answer *B) No?*

My brain started to hurt at the sheer thought of it all. If I answered *A) Yes,* then I'd actually be saying *YES,* not *NO.* But if I answered *B) No,* then I'd actually be saying *NO,* even though I'm picking an answer called *YES.*

My hand clicked the mouse cursor over to answer *C) I don't know.* Then something happened. The website froze. The rainbow wheel of death began to spin and everything locked up.

A few seconds later, a pop-up window appeared in the center of the screen. It read:

"You are not eligible to take this survey. You have been paid $50. Thank you for your time."

A few minutes later, I checked my bank account and saw that I really had been paid $50.

I couldn't stop pondering what just happened, the questions, the possible answers, the possibilities.

As of the time of this writing, the website is still active. You can find it at - www.askeverybody.com.

I encourage you to try it yourself. I'm interested in hearing about any similar experiences that others may have.

For now, however, I'm going to go to bed.

Wish me luck.

EDIT:

I thought that this would be a good spot to compile all of the different possibilities that people in the comments have come up with. I'll update it as often as I can. Feel free to add your theories in the comments below!

---
**Possible Theories:**

1.
