ELI 5: If we 99% share our DNA with chimpanzees, why didn't we evolve to be able to eat a diet of leaves and berries like them?

I know that sometimes the analogy "we share so much DNA" doesn't mean what people think it means, but chimps really do eat an almost exclusively plant diet, and we can't, or atleast not without becoming malnourished (just like them, I assume)
