Does every lizard breeder have to be a startup CEO?

I’m just a hobbyist who has no interest in profiting from breeding. I have 6 lizards in my home, and I just really like them. I think I would like to start breeding them, but my god it seems like every breeder I talk to is in it for the benjamins. They all seem to be in competition with each other and hide all their tips and tricks from each other. I’m a good person, I love my lizards, and I do not want to make a profit off of them. I just want to learn how to encourage them to breed, help them grow, and then find new homes for their babies. Is there just no space for me in this world? I’m not a businessperson, I’m just a person with too many lizards. Or - am I just on the wrong Facebook groups?
