Hey everyone. I really think the internet is dead. No, this isn't a "the internet was better back in my day" post.

All the corporations have killed off some of the most popular social media platforms that were trying to be competitors to big social media platforms, and have instead decided to invest in social media platforms that are more centralized and controlled. This has ruined online discourse:

1. Instagram: has killed off all third-party apps that were made to view or interact with the platform. You are forced to use an app that is bloated with ads and controlled by big business.

2. Twitter: is the last remaining social media platform controlled by big business that has open APIs that third-party apps can interact with. Big business is trying to kill off Twitter and there are signs that it is dying.

3. Chambers: was an open platform where anyone could go and post on any topic they wanted. Big business has spent billions of dollars and has gotten rid of all the cat chambers, the lunatic chambers, and has gotten rid of all the third-party apps the interact with the platform. Now big business controls all of the chambers we are allowed to see, and they control the narrative to keep us on their platform and not interacting with smaller online communities.

4. Facebook (not Instagram): was an open platform where anyone could post and interact with whatever they wanted. Now, big business investment has made it so that we are not allowed to see any of the little things that are relevant to us. Now big business controls what we see and who we interact with. The algorithm controls what we are allowed to see, and big business controls what the algorithm thinks is relevant to us.

So, yes. The internet is dead. Big business has killed it off.
