AITA for telling my ex-wife to not make me out to be a deadbeat in front of our kids?

I tried to find the exact sub I posted this in a few days ago but it looks like it went straight to my history without me being able to find the sub.

I'll post it here in the hopes of getting an answer.

I’ll keep it short, I divorced my ex-wife 5 years ago and got full custody of our kids. She’s a full on alcoholic and was often drinking while she was pregnant with them. I really can’t stand her and I hope she gets her life together for our kid’s sake. She goes to therapy, but it doesn’t seem like it’s helping much.

I pay a lot more than the average in child support and she constantly complains about it, it’s not enough apparently. I don’t see where all the money could be going. Whenever I drop the kids off there’s no groceries and they always complain that she makes them go to school hungry. Both of my kids are in middle school now and they’ve started to ask for an allowance so they can eat lunch.

I tried talking to her about this and she just tells me she’s been busy and doesn’t have time to go grocery shopping.

So, one day I pick them up from her house and she’s passed out drunk, no groceries in the house, the kids tell me they haven’t eaten all day and I just lose it. I tell her that if she can’t afford to feed them then she should let me fully adopt them and give up her rights.

She wokes up and goes on a whole rant how I’m a deadbeat who doesn’t pay enough and I’m trying to keep them away from her.

AITA?
