Why do people want Darul Islam?

For many people, Darul Islam is some kind of dreamland where women are in burkhas, religion is followed to the letter, where men are men and women are women and everything is pure and perfect.

What does it even achieve? You already have Saudi Arabia for that, do you need a Darul Islam in India as well? People who support Darul Islam are not entirely evil, there is probably some good in them that is driving them to crave a pure society, but they're misguided and have fallen into a trap of things they don't even understand.

They don't even know what sharia law is, how it's applied selectively, how it's used to brutalize people for small infractions, how it's used as a tool for social control.

All these dipshits who want Darul Islam are actually protested by the same Muslims who don't want it. Imagine a country where every controversial issue is decided by Islamic scholars, who have no experience with the modern world. A country where it's illegal to criticise Islam, where everything is under constant surveillance by the government.

Imagine living in a nation where you have no freedom to live your life as you see fit, where everything is dictated by an archaic law code from the 7th century.
