My (34m) wife (33f) cancelled our vacation to apply for a new job. How do I feel about it?

I planned a week long vacation with my wife and our 2yo son. We all were really looking forward to it. But then one day I was told that our vacation would be cancelled after she was encouraged to apply for a director position which would be a significant career step for her. <br><br>I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I totally understand her and I am so proud of her. She has to try. On the other hand, I am a bit disappointed. I don't travel much due to my job, family etc. This trip would mean a lot to me. <br><br>How do I approach her with this and how do I explain my feelings to her?
