Do free will and moral responsibility contradict?

I am currently a secondary education philosophy student and I want to write a thesis about the relationship between free will and moral responsibility. I am still in the library, but I am fascinated by the topic and wanted to ask here. Can someone describe the main currents and positions? Or are you more in favor of compatibilism, hard incompatibilism, or libertarianism?
