I hate the fact that I, an older guy, have to be the one to make this stand

I'm in my 50s. I've always allowed younger people to lead in tech. It seems like they should understand it more; it's a hell of a lot easier for them to learn than it is for me.

Older people have the massive advantage of knowing what the world was like before the internet. I know what the world is like without fb, ai, the cloud, and openai. I know what it's like to speak with a human being, to carry a map with yourself while driving, and a hell of a lot of other things.

I've been programming for 20 years, but I didn't start until I was 40. I'm actually quite good at it. But I also know what it's like to sit down with a human and have a deep, meaningful conversation.

I've been actively against ai for the past few years, at least since ChatGPT came out. Since the iPhone came out, I've realized that if I don't move to change this world, nobody will. I was wrong. There are a lot of people that are against what's going on, and they are more active than I was.

I'm glad that I was wrong. I'm glad there are people younger than me in front of this fight. I'm glad, because I'm not sure how much gas I have left in my tank to fight this; I'm not sure if I have the knowledge to make a difference.

But I'm seriously grieving what has been lost because of fb, openai, and most of all, apple. I miss the world before these things were invented.

This is my attempt to make what I know available. This is my attempt to get people to see reality the way it is.

I'm not sure if it will make a difference. But I have to try, because nobody else is.
