Ok so I’m 37 and live in Pennsylvania, and have spent my entire childhood picking Western Conifer Seed Bugs off my shoulder and arms and putting them either outside or in a terrarium. I knew they didn’t bite or sting, but I also didn’t feel comfortable having them on me.

I called them “Kiss Bugs” because it felt like they were kissing my arms with whatever they were using to drink sap from trees.

6 months ago we moved to a small lake house in Maine to escape the chaos of the world and get in touch with nature. We arrived in October, and after a week or two the Kiss Bugs were back.

We’ve tried everything we could think of to keep them out of our house, but nothing seems to work. I’ve been leaving the collection of them on my desk to release every night after I smoke some weed.

They make me feel very calm and connected to the planet. I spent a majority of my childhood talking to them and being completely present in the moment with them as well.

I just wanted to say I appreciate your little bug brains.
