The "productivity" space is riddled with "gurus" who are just modern snake oil salesmen. There's almost zero science behind what they do and nearly all of it is bullshit.

Let's face facts. Every single "productivity" podcast, book, YouTube channel, etc. is almost entirely made up and pulled out of someone's ass. These people essentially have zero credentials in psychology or science, which are the actual fields of science that are relevant to this kind of thing. They essentially do no experimentation, testing, or anything to back up their claims. They're just modern day snake oil salesmen who, at best, sell placebos that sometimes help people because of the placebo effect since the human mind is so influenced by suggestion.

That's why nearly every self-help book is basically the same book. That's why these people never actually conduct tests to see if their advice helps. This is why they never actually conduct studies of any kind to see if their advice is good. It would require actual work and might even show that their advice is nonsense.

Is there anyone else in here sick to death of modern day snake oil salesmen and the fact that no one calls them out on this?
