The next big thing?

I've been breeding for 4 years and I have never seen this many people moving in and out of the market than I have the last 18 months. I get message after message after message from people talking about start up farms. I get so many messages from people looking to buy out a farm or looking to partner up with a farm. I get message after message from people asking me about breeding and how to start up. I get message after message of people excited about breeding that are 3-4 years down the road.<br><br>I'll start by saying that I'm happy that people are excited about taking the next step in the reptile hobby. I'm happy that people are thinking about breeding snakes. I'm happy that people are going to be talking about breeding snakes.<br><br>Now, for the problems. I don't think that this is going to be a great thing for the hobby. I think that we are going to see a couple of things happen here, not all of them good. First, I think that a lot of the people that are excited about breeding now are not going to be around much longer than a year. They are going to get in over their head and they are going to bail. I think that a lot of them are going to be the type of people that are excited about breeding now and will bail on breeding when they feel that it is not the next big thing anymore. They are going to be the reason that a lot of animals suffer. They are going to be the reason that a lot of animals die.<br><br>Second, I don't think that a lot of them are going to do their research. A lot of the people that talk to me are people that have been in the market for 1-2 years. They don't know the first thing about breeding snakes. They don't know the first thing about the struggles of breeding snakes. They don't know what it takes to be a breeder. They are going to bring a lot of suffering to a lot of animals. They are going to bring a lot of death to a lot of animals. I get message after message from people asking me questions that can be answered by doing a simple google search. I get message after message from people asking me questions that can be answered by talking to other breeders. I get message after message from people asking me questions that can be answered by talking to people that have been in the market for years.<br><br>The next big thing is not going to be good for the market. The next big thing is going to bring a lot of suffering to a lot of animals. The next big thing is going to bring a lot of death to a lot of animals. The next big thing is going to bring a lot of problems to the market.<br><br>If you are going to get into breeding snakes, please do your research. Please don't be a shitty person that lets animals suffer and die. Please don't be the reason that animals suffer and die.<br><br>Thank you for taking the time to read this.
