Why do people like used bookstores?

I honestly don't understand why people like going to used bookstores. I thought you had to go to bookstores because you had no choice with books but that was 15-20 years ago. That's not the case at all anymore. I'll never understand used bookstores it's a lot like antique stores to me.<br><br>Edit: Okay now some of you are starting to make more sense. I'll give you an example of why I don't like used bookstores, yesterday I was in one looking for a book that was released in 1968. I found the book and it cost $40. I went home and looked on Amazon and the exact book was for $12 brand new. I sometimes think used bookstores are just over priced junk shops.<br><br>​
