I have been doing my best to live more frugally this past year, and I’m seeing some big changes. I feel more connected to the world around me and I’ve learned so many new things.

Even though the average household income is higher than ever, people are more broke than ever. I have noticed that a lot of things are designed to be overly disposable right now. I make my own dishes, laundry detergent and some of my own clothes, I’ve learned to repair and take care of things. It’s hard to explain, but it’s been a fun experience.

I have no desire to live a life in extreme poverty, but being frugal has its benefits. I’m happy right now. It’s so important to live sustainably, and I feel like big businesses take advantage of us by encouraging us to throw things away.
