How do you get feedback on a story?

I've been working on a story for a while now. It's actually going really well. I've gotten far enough that I want to know how it could be improved. But I'm not sure how to get feedback.<br><br>I could ask a friend, but I'm not sure that would be considered third-party.<br><br>I could give it to my teacher, but then I don't know if I could submit it anywhere that has an age rule (like Scholastic).<br><br>I could give it to an English classmate, but I'm not sure that it would be fair to ask them to read a 25,000-word novel and give me feedback.<br><br>I could send it to a magazine, but I'm not sure how much feedback I would get.<br><br>So, how do you get feedback on stories?
