One guy in another country decided to break into my house through the screen door.

So this happened to me over a year ago but I'm still very curious as to what drove this guy to do this. This also happened out of nowhere so no idea whether this guy was a creep or not.

Full disclosure, out of the 3 devices I own, I only have one that I know of connected to the internet. That's my laptop.

So one day, I was just chilling in my room, was in the middle of reading a book and I get a notification on my laptop. This notification usually happens when I get an automated email, like a payment confirmation. But today, I get a notification from Google saying that an unknown device has logged into my account. The notification also tells me that it's logged in from India, so obviously it's not me.

So, I was confused and asked myself, what device has logged into my Google account? I looked around the house and it was just me and my mom and she was in another part of the house. So I open my laptop and go to my Google account settings to see what device has logged in. I'm met with blatant Google search history, where this guy was looking up how to break into a house through a screen door. There were also other things like how to break in silently, how to enter through a screen door, I don't remember all of them.

Anyway, I took a screenshot of the search history for reference. I was in total confusion whether this was a Google glitch or what. I look at the device logged in my account and it was an android phone, with the carrier saying Salt. I searched Salt up and Salt was a mobile carrier in India.

I was in total shock, this was real. Some guy across the world had accessed my account using his phone. Then, I started thinking about this and it didn't make sense, but then it did in a very creepy way.

I remembered that my mom had used my laptop a few days ago to look up something on Google. And I use Google Maps a lot, where it usually keeps my house location as the starting point. So it occurred to me that this guy had probably opened Google maps in my account and got the location of my house. And then was trying to find out how to break in.

I'm located in the US and this guy was in India, so idk how he was going to make a trip all the way here to break in. Unless he was going to contact someone in my area, but this is all speculation. This occurred out of the blue, as I hadn't encountered the creepiness of the net before.

This was all a weird experience but I was in luck as I was able to log this guy out and basically locked him out of my account. But the experience was weird, as the odds of this guy trying to break in were slim, but it was still unnerving to know. I only found out about this when this guy logged into my account, but there's no telling how long this guy was researching how to break in.
