Went to 4chan to see what people actually said about the election. I regret it.

I'm not sure if this is the right chamber to post this in but here goes nothing.

I decided to go onto 4chan's /pol/ to get a sense of what people actually think about the election and the results. I don't usually go onto that site and the last time I did was out of morbid curiosity and boredom. I regret doing that.

First off. I'm not trying to bash or bashful anyone for having differing views. It's just that the people on that website have some backwards views and take it to a whole new level.

So what did I notice?

- Celebration. I saw a lot of people celebrating the win. There was a lot of "this is what liberty feels like" and "we did it" and "MAGA" and "based off" and a bunch of other things. There was a lot of celebration and congratulations going on.

- Denial of reality. I saw people saying things like "I can't wait for Biden to get in office and start sending people who didn't vote for him to concentration camps". I saw people saying that Biden was going to start a civil war with Trump supporters. I saw people saying that Biden and Kamala were going to do all sorts of shit that just isn't true. I also saw a lot of "we should have predicted that he would win" and "this was a huge loss". I feel like most of them were just trying to cope with the loss or something. I also saw a lot of "orange man bad" and "drumpf" which was sort of surprising. Even on 4chan there is a large contingent that just outright despises Trump and the people who voted for him.

- Suicide. I saw a lot of people saying how they were going to kill themselves. I saw a lot of people saying that they didn't want to live in an America that would elect Biden and that they were scared for their lives and their families lives. I saw people talking about how they wanted to kill themselves out of sadness and frustration that Trump had lost. I feel bad for them. I feel bad that they feel that way and I hope they can find a way out of their misery. I wish them the best and I hope they get the help that they need.

- Moving to Canada. I don't know why but I saw a lot of people saying that they wanted to move to Canada. Not Mexico or some other country but Canada. I saw a lot of people saying that they were going to leave the country if Biden won and that they were going to move to Canada because it was "less worse" than the US. I think its a joke but I'm not entirely sure.

- Trump 2024. I saw a lot of people saying that they were still going to vote for Trump in 2024 even if he lost this election. I saw a lot of people talking about how they wanted Trump to run again in four years and that they were going to vote for him no matter what. I also saw a lot of people saying that they were going to vote for him again because "orange man bad" and also because they felt bad for him losing the election.

- Taking up arms. I saw a lot of people saying that they were going to take up arms and fight the government. I saw people saying that they wanted to start a civil war because of the election results. I also saw people saying that they wanted to assassinate Biden and the people who voted for him. I don't know how serious any of these people are but they were very loud and obnoxious about expressing these sentiments.

- The Simpsons did it. I saw a lot of people post screenshots of The Simpsons where Homer says "I didn't vote for you, I voted for the guy you beat". It was usually in response to someone saying "Biden didn't win, he just beat Trump" or something like that. There was a lot of that being thrown around and I found it pretty funny.

- China. I saw a lot of people say that Biden losing the election meant that China had won. I don't really get what they mean by that. I don't really think that the Chinese government has any stake in the result of the election. It was pretty common to see people saying that China had won and was celebrating Biden's victory. I also saw a lot of people saying that Biden was in the pocket of the Chinese and that he was going to do what they say.

- Trump is still my president. I saw a lot of people saying that Trump was still their president and that Biden was an illegitimate president. I also saw a lot of people saying that they would still consider Trump to be their president even after Biden takes office. I saw a lot of people express loyalty and devotion to Trump and was pretty common to see things like "Biden will never be my president". A lot of people were expressing how much they stood by Trump and that they would support him no matter what.

- "I'm moving to Texas". I saw a lot of people saying that they wanted to move to Texas because it was the only "based" state in the country that still had "conservative values". I saw a lot of people saying that Austin was a political island and that they wanted to move there because it was "one of the last bastions of conservatism". I don't know how serious these people were but it was a common sentiment among the people I saw.

- Fake election. I saw a lot of people saying that the election was fake and that it had been rigged by the "elites" or "communists" or something. I saw a lot of people saying that they didn't believe the results of the election and that they thought Biden had cheated in order to win. I didn't really see that many people accept the fact that Trump had lost.

So yeah. That's what I saw on 4chan in regards to the election.

EDIT: I didn't expect this post to blow up like it did. I thought it would get a few karma and maybe a comment or two. I didn't expect thousands of upvotes.

Reading the comments convinced me that this website was even worse than I thought. So many racist comments. So many shitty comments. So many people spreading misinformation and ruining discourse.

I'll admit. I'm a dumb liberal that thought this might be a decent place to have a discussion. I was wrong.

I'm never coming back to this hellsite.
