I LOVE my boyfriend but I really don’t understand why we are doing this

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and a half and the relationship has been great! He’s the best guy I have ever been with and I have fallen extremely in love with him. 2 months ago I told him that I have to move to a different country for 1-2 years for work and he said he would move there with me. I was surprised because I expected him to choose staying in our country rather than leaving his job, friends etc and I am really grateful he will move with me.<br><br>However, he has been saying that he wants to break up for months now. He told me that he would break up with me if I were to stay in our country but he would come with me to the other country and we would stay together until I had to go back home. I was surprised by that and I asked him to give me a reason why he wants to break up because I don’t understand. He said he’s not happy in the relationship and doesn’t feel too connected to me. I was really confused because he has always said he’s very happy in the relationship and loved me very much. I was so confused and asked him to give me reasons and I would improve and it took me a lot of begging and convincing him to tell me. He told me that he doesn’t find me desirable and attractive, which completely shocked me because he has always been complimenting me and telling me that he finds me so attracted to me. He also told me that he has been doing distance to me emotionally and physically and he’s making himself not love me as much, which I didn’t know because he’s still calling me love and baby and giving me hugs and kisses. <br><br>I told him he needs to give me time to find a new job or someone to take over because it’s not that easy to leave my job and he agreed to stay together and I was so happy that he was willing to give me time. However, he told me it’s extremely hard for him and he’s not happy and would rather break up and I told him it was hard for me too to be told I wasn’t desirable to him and that he doesn’t love me anymore. I told him that I understand if he doesn’t want to stay together and I really want him to be happy so I will go to the other country and he can stay here. However, he said he’s already made plans to move with me and was looking forward to this new chapter so he was still going to move with me.<br><br>I have been very confused by all this and have been begging him to help me understand why he’s staying with me when he’s not happy and feel like trash for it. He said he was doing it for himself and because he wanted to move there. I really don’t understand because it makes no sense to me why someone who is unhappy in a relationship would stay in a relationship just to move to another country. He’s already got a good job, lots of savings and great friends so I don’t know why he’s doing this. He’s also already told me that there’s no chance of us staying together after I come back from the other country so I don’t understand why he’s doing this and wasting my time when he’s already made up his mind.
