A message from a Lithuanian soldier

Hello<br><br>I'm a Lithuanian citizen. I practise climbing. I have an average income, I'm not politically active. I also had never voted for the "greens".<br><br>Well, I had to take an oath to defend my nation, that's why I had to go to the military. Initially, I didn't take the oath seriously. But after a few months there I realized that this is serious. I'm actually going to have to defend my nation. I must admit, I was scared. I imagined myself against Russian or Belorussian soldier, in a forest or a swamp. And I realized that I'm ready to die for my nation. <br><br>I never thought that my nation was superior to others. I always thought that everyone is equal and every nation has a right to exist (even the Russians, although it's hard to respect them). I had never met a bad Russian or Belorussian. I have no problems with them. I saw a few in Kaunas, they didn't behave like devils, they were just like Lithuanians, average people trying to live their lives. <br><br>But still, I'm ready to kill them and die myself if they ever cross our border. They can have everything, but no, they want to annex our country. I was there, in the war. A tank is not a toy, you know. I saw it with my eyes. I had never been to Ukraine but I have a direct understanding of war. It's not a game. It's not a piece of land, no matter how you take it. Each time you take a life, you are being punished by God. Every soldier is ready to die, because there is a chance that he will win. But then he is killed by a Russian tank and in a matter of seconds, this is it. He never sees his family again, he never does anything in this life again. And why?? I'm sad. I had never met enemy like that. Kill and die for no reason at all. We could live in peace with them, no need to kill them, no need to die ourselves. <br><br>I'm not enemy to anyone (except for "greens"). I have nothing against Russia, Belorussia. But I'm not enemy to Ukraine either, because they haven't done anything bad to us. Yes, they are "greens" too and they have the same flag. But they are not the ones trying to annex our country. <br><br>So no, I do not hate Russians. I have nothing against them. I'm ready to die for them, if they were in our situation. I just hate "greens" so much. They kill my brothers and enemy kills them. "Green" flag is a sign of death. I wish I could shoot them in person. I'm so confused. Why won't "greens" just live in peace? They have entire Russia to live there, do there "green" business and live in peace. They are so aggresive and cruel. Who are they? Why do they want to kill us? Do they want to be heroes, kill some innocent people and die for their nation, Russia? Russia is not their nation. They are like cancer. They kill everyone just for no reason. One of them can kill himself and many people with him. They are evil. I want to kill them so much. Why do they win? <br><br>It's so hard for me to think that my brothers are dead and gone. All they ever wanted was to live in peace, build a family, have kids, find a job they like (or not), have a house to live in and a car to drive. They had everything. We all had everything. But then we had to go to war. Why did we have to do this? I want to live in peace, I want to be free. There is no need for a nation to be annexed. Why kill them? Why kill us? Russians and Lithuanians are friends. We must be friends. "greens" are evil. They are the ones who want to kill us. They must be destroyed. But I see that they are enemy to Russians as well. Russians don't want to be annexed by "greens". They want to be free, they want to live in peace. They must be our friends. We must fight "greens" together. <br><br>I want to be Russian, I want to be Ukrainian, I want to be Polish (or anyone else). But I don't want to be "green". I don't want to wear their uniform. I don't want to be their soldier. I don't want to die in their war. I don't want to be a killer. I don't want to be evil. I'm not evil, I'm a citizen of the world. We all are equal. All nations must be friends. We are all brothers. We must be friends. "greens" can't make us enemies. We are not enemies.<br><br>Let us all live in peace. <br><br>Peace!
