What are some historical examples of situations where people were able to see an impending doom in front of them, but nobody else could?

I'm currently reading Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, and I had a bit of a hard time sleeping last night and I don't really know why. I got up, got a glass of water, and when I went to my bed, I noticed a reflection on the wall. It was from my phone screen shining through the glass of the water bottle. I then realized that this must have been the case for people in the past, if they saw water in a glass, they'd see a reflection. It could have led them to the idea of what a reflection is, and how it works.

From there, I started wondering if there have been people in the past who have been aware of an impending doom, or some disaster, but they had no way of telling people, or proving their point. One example I thought of was the people who predicted the sinking of the Titanic, but those kinds of predictions are so common, I don't think they're very strong examples.

I then thought of Galileo, and how the church wouldn't listen to his theories of the solar system because they didn't align with their beliefs. It got me wondering if there have been times where someone has had a scientific theory, that was true, and it would have prevented a disaster, but they had no way to prove their theory because of the technological limitations at the time.

And thats what brings me here. I feel like I don't have the best track record for coming up with things that haven't already been posted here, but hopefully this one is unique enough. Thanks for reading, and any replies are greatly appreciated.
