What's the best self-managed open source CMS solutions for a multilingual (2+ languages) website?

Hi, I am providing web services for the last 5+ years. My specialty is PHP and as I have been using wordpress for the past 5+ years I have found that it has many flaws - you need to install so many plugins for each functionality. With each new plugin either the load times are higher or there is some issue (clashes of plugins, features not working properly etc). <br><br>I want to move away from wordpress to some other self-managed open source solution. What are the best ones? Scalibility is a must. <br><br>I use Cloudflare (so server overhead is not a big issue) and i need a solution for multilingual websites.
