We all dislike musl1ms and that them being a problem is widely accepted. But have we ever stopped to consider the nature of the relationship with the Sikhs? Or have we just taken it for granted?

I have been meaning to ask this as I recently had an interaction.

A Hindu Sardar friend of mine had invited me to his wedding and everyone was celebrating. I dislike drinking so I was not drinking them, but having fun with everyone else. There was a Sardar uncle who looked at me and said "You are not a Sikh. How did you enter the Gurdwara?". I politely told him that I was Hindu. He started shouting at my friend. All of the other Sikhs were hugging and chatting with us Hindus. They were really friendly and fun to talk with. We were all drinking together, and celebrating. The uncle them raised his voice, which was met with laughter from everyone. I asked my friend of what had just happened, and he said that "They are all sickos. We are Hindus, we just wear turbans. We are not Sikhs".

This incident stuck with me. The other Sikhs were fun and no problem. But why would one Sikh behave like that? I looked into it and found out that Sikhs want to convert people to their religion, and want people to think they are some sort of minority religion (just like musl1ms). I am not sure about it as I don't want to lump all Sikhs into the same basked so I want to hear what you have to say.
