Saw my student when I went grocery shopping

So on Friday I was grocery shopping and I saw one of my students. It was a 6th grader and she is pretty quiet. So when I saw her I said (not using real names) “Hi Jen what are you doing here?” <br><br>She said “Hi Mrs. Kite I’m helping my dad shop.” <br><br>But it was clear she was embarrassed. Like she didn’t want anyone to know she was doing chores. <br><br>I told her that helping with shopping is an important job. <br><br>It’s just funny to see students outside of school.
