CMV: Meat, the way we produce it, sell it and consume it is immoral and needs to change.

First off I want to say that I am not a vegan. I eat meat and I like it. It's been a cornerstone of human evolution and it's just so damn tasty. But I do believe that the way we treat animals just for our pleasure is immoral and needs to stop. <br><br>I feel like this issue gets shadowed by a lot of others, but for good reason. Like climate change and other issues are important, but they get the light they deserve whereas this issue is talked about less often. <br><br>I myself love the taste of a good steak, fried chicken or a god forsaken bigmac (don't tell anyone I told you this). I love it and I won't stop eating it. It's part of our evolution, it's in our DNA and part of our nature. Humans are meat eaters and always have been. But the way we produce it, the way we treat the animals before they land on our plates should be seen as highly immoral and stopped. <br><br>Look at how cows live before they are processed into food, look at how chickens are cramped into small cages, look at how pigs are treated. They are not seen as anything else than a dollar sign. <br><br>And for what? So that you can eat a burger that comes from a fast food chain that's filled with horrible shit and tastes like nothing at all? <br><br>What makes it even worse is that we produce more meat than we actually need. Parts of the world are starving and we produce more food than we actually need, and a large part of that goes to waste. <br><br>The fact that we produce so much meat and a lot is wasted, we need to totally change the way we eat. The way we produce food needs to be revolutionized. Right now we produce enough food to feed every person on this earth. But because we produce so much and a lot goes to waste, we will need 3 earths by 2060 to feed our planet. <br><br>The way we produce, consume and waste food needs to change. And it needs to change now. We can either do it slowly or we can do it the hard way, but something needs to change.
