I’m overwhelmed with the sheer amount of stuff my 3 year old daughter is constantly bringing into the house. I keep trying to routinely go through her toys and clothes and either donate or throw away stuff that is outgrown or in disrepair but there is just So. Much. Stuff. She loves playing with her toys.

She gets so many hand me downs from other people (I know at least one person buys her toys that are beyond her age range and I end up putting them away for a while) but it feels like she never ever gets rid of toys. At Christmas she got a ton of stuff from family and friends and only now, months later, are we really starting to play with some of those toys.

I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed with it. I love having some toys and things for her to play with, but the sheer amount is starting to get to me.

To add to that she likes to pick up rocks and sticks and things when we’re outside, and I don’t want to discourage her from collecting certain things as I collected rocks myself when I was younger and have very fond memories of that. It’s just hard to know the line between collecting a couple things and bringing every single rock she finds in the yard into the house.

I’m just really struggling with it all. Any advice would be great!
