I'm currently learning Italian as a native English speaker. This is my 4th language to learn (my native English, college French, Duolingo Spanish, and now Italian) and I've never found a language to be more absolutely beautiful and pleasant to speak and listen to.

However, I've also never found a language to be more difficult to learn in terms of grammar. I think French and Spanish are all pretty basic when it comes to grammar (they just have a lot of cognates and vocabulary, and I think the grammar for English speakers is easy).

I've always thought about the ideal language for beginners to learn - what would be best for grammar, vocabulary, etc. for a language to be as easy as possible to learn.

What do you all think? What would be the best design of a language to make it easy to learn?
