For about the last 5 years now, my wife and I have been traveling quite a bit. And every time we go out to eat somewhere, we always give out points between 0-100. It's all in fun and games, but it can get quite competitive with the restaurant we choose.

We usually start at a 50. If the service is bad, it goes below 50. If the service is excellent, it goes above 50. We don't tip much. Usually it's around 10%.

But once we hit a certain number, we do something. For example, if we hit -50, we don't give a tip and give bad reviews on social media and Yelp. We also go outside the restaurant and write "bad service" on their window in washable markers.

If we hit 150, we give out a 100% tip. If we hit 200, we give out 100% tip and we give them excellent reviews on social media and Yelp. If we hit 250, we give out a 100% tip, excellent reviews on social media and Yelp and we write "excellent service" on their window in washable markers.

We also keep track of points for each city and country. We've been to over 100 cities in the United States and we have a list of who scored the lowest points and who scored the highest points.

For example, we found that Portland, Oregon has the best service, scoring an average of 67 points. That's a 17% tip. While the worst city is Miami, Florida, scoring an average of 41 points. That's a 9% tip.

For countries, we found that Iceland had the best service, scoring an average of 73 points. That's a 23% tip. While Costa Rica had the worst service, scoring an average of 28 points. That's a 2.8% tip.

It's all in fun and games. We like to travel and we like to give feedback to restaurants to improve their service. It's worked out well so far.
