Is childf*re* a threat?

I’m childfree but it just hit me that I hear people who have kids but hate it say that they’ll have more kids if they’re ever in a situation where they have fewer resources. This was something I heard while volunteering, I had thought it was a joke but was told it’s not.<br><br>Is this an actual threat? I’ve heard women do this, and its so hurtful.
