Why do lonely people go to the bar or the club? Don't you know these are social events and everyone already has their own group or friends, so the chances of making new friends is very slim.

Or you'll go to an event alone, and meet new people, but they'll already have friends that they want to hang out with... not you.

I swear, people don't even talk to each other anymore. Everyone is so busy on social media these days, and on their own, nobody even looks up when someone walks by anymore.

I've been lonely since I was a kid, and it always feels like it's getting worse and worse, and worse. I don't understand the point of living lonely. No matter how hard I try to put myself out there, I'm met with rejection and disappointment and hurt.

I'm so tired of putting myself out there, just so people can make fun of me and bully me and exclude me. I just want to be left alone now. I'm so tired of wanting to socialize and connect with people, only to look around and realize I am ignored and I don't exist to anyone‍♂️.

Edit: I thought this sub would be good for venting on. I didn't realize it was filled with lonelier people than me, who have suffered more than me. I'm sorry if I sounded naive and insensitive , I didn't mean to act like I was the chosen one or anything. And I didn't mean to act like I am so much better than anybody else.

Reading through your comments is making me cry.
I didn't know there were so many people like this, suffering so much.
